Class Visitor

We were very lucky to receive a welcome visitor to our classroom on Friday. In line with public health guidelines, we have been opening all windows when we go out for break. When we returned, we found a blue tit in the room. He stayed and watched us eat our lunches for about 5 minutes. We know that Santa sometimes uses robins to check on children and we are not sure if this little guy was doing the same job!

Some Term 1 Art Work

We created these art displays during the first term. We drew self portraits, with masks, to show that even with Covid restrictions, we can still have great fun. We collaboratively made a jigsaw display to demonstrate that even though we are all different, in all sorts of interesting ways, we all work together to make a happy class community.

Kandinsky Abstract Art

Our recent art lesson was inspired by the abstract work of Kandinsky who used colour, lines and shape to great effect. Instead we tried to use colour, line and shape in new explorative ways. See our cool ideas here!

Ask a Scientist?????

Over the course of our scientific research the children came up with some really interesting questions which we sent to the Science Departments at N.U.I. Galway. They did not have time to deal with all of our questions but Professor Sheena Farrell, a leading scientist in her field, answered one during a recent Science on Screen Event. This clever question was asked by Colin and sent on behalf of all children in class 3B. Schools from all over Ireland tuned in.
